Kyiv, 1 April 2016 – Software for the Unified State Register of declarations of the persons authorized to implement the functions of state and local self-government bodies was presented to the judges and the personnel of the Supreme Court of Ukraine who are required to fill their asset declaration forms in 2016.
Following the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption's recent launch, new challenges arose. One of them is the issue of starting a new electronic system of asset declarations for public officials. At the request of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, UNDP's Enhanced Public Sector Transparency and Integrity Project has developed new software to initiate this system and make the declaration procedure user-friendly.
"Key legislative changes are that public officials will fill in and submit a declaration in an electronic form. It will be available online for the public. The NAPC will check the declarations, while persons who submitted false information or failed to submit a declaration will bear not only administrative, but also criminal responsibility,'' summed up the key features of the new system Dmytro Kotliar, expert of the World Bank and UNDP.
The participants of the presentation also discussed the further actions of the NAPC – the agency responsible for checking the declarations.
