Civic activists learnt of the human rights-based approach in the CSOs activities

27 anti-corruption activists and representatives from the CSOs-hubs network of hubs raised awareness on the human rights-based approach at the training, which took place on May 29-31, 2018 in the Human Rights House in Chernihiv with the financial support of Danish MFA.

“Any decision, taken by the state official, must be based on human rights”, stresses Ruslana Burova, human rights defender and head of the NGO “MART”.

“A human rights-based approach must be entrenched in activities of all the civil society organizations. Thanks to training, we have realized how to apply this principle in cooperation with the authorities, planning advocacy campaigns and projects' implementation”, says Iryna Gayduchyk, head of the NGO “Volyn Institute of Law”.

A human rights-based approach (HRBA) is a conceptual framework for the process of human development that is normatively based on international human rights standards and operationally directed to promoting and protecting human rights.

HRBA aims at finding possibilities to respect, support and ensure diversity of people.
