11 organizations that received grants from UNDP Democratization, Human Rights and Civic Society Development in Ukraine Programme attended the training seminar "Planning a Successful Advocacy Campaign within the Framework of UNDP-supported Projects" that started on 20 May. The training was organized by ICAD "Ednannia" – UNDP partner in this project.
In the current Ukrainian context, advocacy is becoming mandatory for each and every non-profit organization in any area. Therefore, the seminar was highly relevant – in particular given that the majority of participants came from Eastern part of Ukraine – Luhansk, Kharkiv and other oblasts.
Trainer and expert Oleksandr Solontai (Institute of Political Education) has focused a particular attention on improvement of individual advocacy campaigns of the grantees: detailed planning, refinement and presentation.
The second day of the seminar was devoted to assessing the risks of personal security of the activists and producing the overall protection strategy. Trainers and experts of the Centre for Civic Freedoms Oleksandra Matviichuk and Oleksandra Delemenchuk help the participants to assess risks and threats, develop behaviour strategies in the office and outdoors and start to implement personal security plans for each granter.
