
Lviv, 8 September 2016 – Over 120 Ukrainian local civil society leaders gathered at a 2-day Forum of the Ukrainian Platform of Civic Initiatives to discuss challenges for civil society at the local level and new forms of citizen participation.

The UNDP-supported Resource Center for IDPs surveyed 168 subnational organisations working with IDPs to assess the needs of civil society organisations or initiatives and to strengthen their cooperation at the subnational level.

Kyiv, 31 August 2016 – With UNDP support, the Office of the Ombudsperson and 3 leading CSOs in the area of access to public information developed and presented a new methodology for the monitoring of public authorities.

With UNDP support, the NGO Public Control Platform successfully engaged in anti-corruption activities in Dnipro oblast. Thanks to their intervention, information on public officials' assets and lifestyle was published and corrupt officials were dismissed.

Fifteen high-ranking officials, including MPs, ministers, and deputy ministers, took part in the Early Birds of E-Declaration campaign aimed at raising citizens' awareness about the launch of e-declaration system via public testing of the online system and media coverage of the process.

Civil society and local government kicked off their joint work on elaborating subnational programmes for civil society development in four pilot oblasts of Ukraine.
