
"Creating favorable conditions for activity of CSOs in Ternopil oblast": this roundtable became next in the series of events held in the oblast centers of Ukraine to discuss hindrances to adoption and implementation of oblast-level programs for fostering civil society development.

30 October 2013, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted a round table "Creating favourable conditions for civil society organizations in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast". This event will be followed by a series of round tables that engage public authorities and civil society and aim at discussion of obstacles and drawbacks hampering the adoption of oblast-level programmes to promote civil society development.

Lviv municipality will provide aid to citizens’ initiatives that the majority of other citizens support through electronic voting. Dolyna municipality will run its housing and public utilities with the help of 3D. Every Vinnytsia citizen will have a personal Internet-assistant. Parents in Novohrad-Volynskyi will communicate with school authorities and teachers online.

The round table initiated in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council by the Ukrainian Center for Independent Political Research and Association for Promoting Citizen Self-Organization was meant to discuss the prospects for the development of the civil society through adoption and implementation of oblast-level target programmes and implementation of the new Law of Ukraine on public associations.

All-Ukrainian Network of CSOs in support of civil society development was created in October in Kyiv with 27 CSOs from all over the country serving as its pillars.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the State Programme for Ensuring Gender Equality in Ukraine till 2016 developed by the Ministry of Social Policy. The Programme has been a long-awaited policy document, and is a big step forward for gender mainstreaming in all areas of social life in Ukraine.
