On 16 June 2014, Ukrainian and Russian human rights defenders addressed international community during the side event at the 26th session of the UN Human Rights Council that is currently in progress in Geneva. The event was attended by more than 50 diplomats, accredited to Geneva-based UN organizations, including the representatives of the EU, European nations, the U.S., Turkey and Russia.

16 June 2014, Kyiv – Kyiv hosted summary consultations for the "Open Government Partnership" Initiative to discuss the National Action Plan (NAP) for 2014 – 2015. The round table at the Club of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine saw over 100 representatives of central and regional governments and civil activists form five oblasts.

Today's round table in Kharkiv is a first attempt to gather all those who try to provide assistance to internally displaced persons from Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Participants represent both the authorities – government and the Office of Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights – and NGOs, charities and volunteers. The ultimate goal of the meeting is to unite everyone's efforts for providing efficient assistance to the internally displaced persons.

The UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights has once again raised the problems of social security of the most vulnerable groups, their access to education and health care, and the issues of discrimination and corruption. They were reflected in its Concluding observations to the regular report of Ukraine.

11 organizations that received grants from UNDP Democratization, Human Rights and Civic Society Development in Ukraine Programme attended the training seminar "Planning a Successful Advocacy Campaign within the Framework of UNDP-supported Projects" that started on 20 May. The training was organized by ICAD "Ednannia" – UNDP partner in this project.

The Secretariat of Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights hosted a specialized training "Particular Features of Realization of the National Preventive Mechanism with Involvement of the Commissioner's Regional Coordinators for Public Relations" on 15-16 May 2014.
