A new report on the human rights situation in Ukraine will be introduced on Friday 29 August at a press briefing at 11am to be held in the Crisis Media Centre, Instytutska street, 4 (hotel “Ukraina”, 3rd floor), Kyiv.

On 22 August the Government cleared a package of draft laws that will, if adopted and implemented, enable the most extensive anticorruption reform in Ukraine since its independence. The draft laws envisage establishment of a full-scale state-wide mechanism for corruption prevention, as well as investigation and prosecution of individuals who have committed grave corruption offences.

Slovyansk, Lysychansk, Severodonetsk… What is happening with the liberated east Ukrainian cities? What core human rights issues arise in the areas where combat was raging just yesterday, and who can aid in tackling those challenges?

On 8 August civic experts together with the experts of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights held a seminar "Access to public information: how to arrange the effective work of the government agency" for the officials of the municipal authorities.
